Cheap and ok
The mixer is cheap and does the job. I do have problems getting it to spin at times. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I got what I paid for a cheap mixer.

Sounds like a high dollar drill
Excellent power and sounds like a well built powertool. Not a rattlebox device that you know will fail after minimal use. Wife loves it.
Not so bad!
This one sure has a bunch of bad reviews, but really, it's not so bad!
I just really wanted a decent hand mixer without having to pay a lot for it. And this was the right choice. Sure the lowest setting is quite fast, but not any faster than my last mixer was. And it's more powerful and studier than the last one I had. The retractable cord is a plus.
All in all, I am glad I got it, and if I could go back, I'd do it again.
Great Mixer
I bought this because I got tired of having friends borrow my cheap ones and breaking them. It works great, and I love the retractable cord.

Almost too much power!
I had a kitchaide mixer and the power just was not there! I was very disappointed in the kitchenaide for the price. I got the Cuisinart mixer because everyone rated that it had a lot power and it does! I like power for making chocolate chip cookies. When you first start with the butter and sugar...Watch Out!...because sugar and or butter will go flying everywhere with all the power! My solution is to use a larger bowl than normal. So this mixer will do the job for thicker dough. My other complaint is the size the mixer itself is rather awkward to hold and it's just plain BIG. It's definitely not modern in design. No sleekness what-so-ever! It's a big dinosaur with lots of power! Good value for the price because you will save a lot of money buying Cuisinart instead of the kitchenaide. A mixer between both Cuisinart and Kitchenaide would be perfect! If anyone finds one let me know! :)
Great for the money!
While looking for an upgrade for my old KitchenAid KHM5DH hand mixer I first tried the new KitchenAid KHM7T which Amazon describes as having a 1.6 amp motor rated at 200 watts. Amazon is wrong (See my review.) as it came with only a 0.6 amp motor which is no better than the old KHM5DM. I sent it back and ordered the Cuisinart HM-70. What an improvement, especially in power! The motor is rated at 220 watts and the increase is immediately apparent.
The HM-70 weighs in at about 2 lbs, 5 ozs. (without weighing the cord) while the Kitchenaid KHM5DH and KHM7T both weigh about 4 ounces less. While it is a bit larger than the KitchenAid its extra weight is most likely due to its heftier motor.
The contols are easy to read and operate. The start-up is a bit quirky as it goes to level 2 speed for about a second before settling back to level 1 speed. This created no problem for me.
It comes with a whisk attachment which costs about $15 extra for the KitchenAid
KHM7T. I find the Cuisinart whisk a bit flimsy.
All in all, this is a good buy.
Just What I Hope It Would Be
I was surprised at how hard it was to decide which hand mixer to get to replace my old one--10-15 years old.
I am very happy with this mixer! It is much nicer looking than my old one. The release for the beaters is not at all hard to use--I don't have strong hands, either. It takes a moment to get up to speed, which I like, and if you stop it, it resets to the lowest speed.
When whipping cream, I just hold the bottoms of the beaters just off the bottom of the bowl, and keep it as perpendicular to the base as possible. It is much easier to avoid splattering than my old one as I do this. Lots of power, so the cream whips very quickly, which is very nice! Good speed variability, to mix more slowly at first if desired.

too strong
I have been very excited about making cupcakes and frosting lately and so bought a handy dandy hand held mixer. Nothing was wrong with the item except that it performed much too strongly than needed. I am only using it to mix my frosting and blend in ingredients. Bits of everything fly off and I am left with frustration and a messy kitchen. This is a big disappointment and maybe a cheaper model with a low setting would have sufficed.
Poor mixer
I don't know why people are giving this product such rave reviews. It was working fine for awhile. But the beaters got bent just by putting them in my dishwasher and now the beater sprays anything in a bowl all over the kitchen, literally. I've been talking to the company and trying to get them to replace the beaters, which they said they'd do. But so far no sign and they haven't responded to my emails.
My advice would be to not buy this beater. Sacrifice a little money and get something that will last, and work.

This is a great mixer. I especially like that it has the 2 glass bowls. No problems with it at all and I do use it all the time..
It broke on second try.
This mixer worked pretty well the first time around, but on the second use of it, the mixing attachments would not release no matter how I pressed the release button. The release button then shifted out of its position and fell into the device itself. Am returning this mixer and hoping to find a better one.
Cheap Cheap Cheap - You get what you pay for!!!
I was trying to save money by purchasing an inexpensive stand mixer that had good reviews rather than spend $200-$300. Well, you get what you pay for. Had this item less than a week and already shipping back to Amazon for refund. Shotty plastic craftsmanship was apparent. The top part that slides up for easy bowl removal popped right off. I was able to reattach but very annoying that it only had so far a range of movement before it popped out of its socket. Then, the button that you push to release the beaters did not work. I couldn't remove the beaters!!! I pushed the button several times to release only for it to release the beaters and the button fell INTO the machine never to be seen again. I decided that was it. Wrapped it back up and sent it back to Amazon TODAY! I'm going to suck it up and buy a Kitchenaid or Hamilton Beach. Just say no to Sunbeam!
